Technician – Eyes on Rosemont

Our growing Optometry Practice is seeking an Optometric Technician for our two locations.

Our ideal candidate will:

Will have a strong attention to detail
Be able to work a variety of hours between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday
Be willing to work at either of our locations
Offer Outstanding Customer Service
Excellent work history, and references
Explain and administer all tests to be performed.
Gather medical history from the patient.
Update medical records with testing data.
Maintain a clean environment for the patient.
Ability to explain and assist patients with all aspects of contact lenses.

Skills needed for this job:

Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and the systems used to manage records.
Familiar with HIPPA regulations and confidentiality
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis
Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications to include – Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
High School graduate or equivalent
Technician experience 1-3 years a plus but not required.
Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener & team builder
Medical Work History helpful

Optician – Eyes on Rosemont

We are a growing, multi-location family owned private practice, looking for a full time Optician to deliver exceptional and professional vision care. Our busy offices are both located in beautiful Portland, Maine.

Our practice offers modern facilities with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, certified EHR software, and an experienced staff.

Interested candidates must have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a drive to succeed. Be a certified Optician with 2+ years of experience. We offer a generous salary and benefits package, plus a whole lot more.

The primary job functions for an Optician are high quality patient care and assessing of optical needs. They ensure the overall smooth operation of the optical area, service patients, explain materials, assess needs, sell appropriate products and dispense.

Key Skills:

Has ability to educate patients and customers on all eyewear products
Ability to explain and assist patients with all aspects of contact lenses.
Takes and records measurements, adjusts and fits eyewear correctly.
Possesses a strong attention to detail ensuring finished eyewear meets all standards and expectations.
Has ability to attract and maintain a client base.
Ability to effectively explain insurance benefits
Maintains equipment, eyeglass displays, inventory and supplies
Reads verbal/non-verbal cues and can close a sale
Reviews prescriptions and identifies special needs.
Ability to trouble shoot prescription and eyewear issues and repairs
Ability to train others

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High School graduate or equivalent
Optical dispensing experience 1-3 years
Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener & team builder
Knowledge of current store merchandise
Strong basic math skills
Awareness of current fashion trends
Sales Skills
Familiarity with POS, computers & calculators
